Nairobi - US President Barrack Obama must address Parliament and the Senate, CORD Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jr has demanded.
The Makueni Senator believes that Obama must make it his business to address the legislature on his arrival in the country, a key part of the Kenyans psyche.
He says that by not doing so, he will have shown disrespect to the nation.
" I think that it is vital Obama address the National Assembly. I think it is important because most of Kenya's policies originate from the House and it will be good if he spoke to legislators," he said Thursday at a local TV station.
Obama will arrive in the country Friday evening to open the Global Entrepreneurship Summit GES 2015.
It is not yet clear what his full programme will be but thus far, the National Assembly has yet to prepare for any special sitting, which will be the case if Obama comes, as he will make it on a weekend when the house is on a break.
However, he is expected to address a gathering at the Kenyatta University as well as at the Safaricom Arena in Kasarani where it is expected MPs will be allowed to join in.
