ODM’s Moses Kajwang’ wins Homa Bay by election

Homa Bay - Moses Otieno Kajwang’ is the winner of the Homa Bay senatorial by-election that was held on Thursday.
According to the electoral commission’s final provisional electronic results from 878 polling stations and streams, Kajwang’, who vied for the seat on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, garnered 127,370 votes.
His closest competitor, Philip Okundi of the Maendeleo Democratic Party managed to garner 27,671 votes.

Fred Rabongo of National Agenda Party of Kenya got 2,829 votes while Benard Otieno of National Vision Party had 1,333 votes.
Medo Luke Misawa, Hilary Alila, Innocent Masara, and Edwin Omondi, who were all independent candidates, got 305,525,275 and 302 votes respectively.
Kajwang’ replaces his brother Gerald Otieno Kajwang’ who died on 18 November, 2014.
