Nakuru - The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) wants Nakuru west Member of Parliament, Samuel Arama to resign and seek re-election after he openly and officially announced that he quit the party that sponsored him to Parliament.
ODM’s director of elections, Junet Mohammed said that Arama should resign as a Member of Parliament and let the people of Nakuru west to decide on who their MP will be.
Speaking Wednesday in Nakuru town, Junet said that the Orange party will petition both the IEBC and Parliament over the issue.
“The law is very clear on what happens when someone denounces the party that sponsored him to Parliament and Arama should follow the same law. Let him resign and allow the people to decide. He has openly announced that he has ditched ODM and joined Jubilee and ODM will ensure that the law is followed,” said Junet.

Junet claimed that Arama quit ODM after being bought by Jubilee with a promise for large parcels of land in Nakuru town.
“We know very well that Arama has been given money and told that if decamps from ODM the land he acquired illegally will not be repossessed. We want to tell him that he has not only betrayed ODM but also his own people who are diehard members of ODM,” he said.
Over the weekend, Arama announced that he had quit ODM and would use JAP ticket to contest in the 2017 general elections.
