Nairobi - The Orange Democratic Movement ODM will name its Homa Bay Senatorial seat candidate Monday after nominations.
The party will name its candidate on Monday December 15, 2014, after a nomination process to be held on the same day, according to the head of elections team at the party Judy Pareno.
She said that the process would be fast-tracked and only done by delegates from the county because of shortage of time as provided by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC.
The IEBC has directed that the by- election be held February 2, 2014.
Delegates to choose the candidate will be drawn from constituencies, MPs, the sub branch as well as MCA's in the county and governor.
The final decision will be made on the aforementioned day, Monday.
The seat was left vacant after the death of Otieno Kajwang through cardiac arrest two weeks ago.
It has been rumoured that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga would run for the seat but those plans were killed off by the party leader Monday.
