ODM set to kick Kidero, Millie, others out of Orange House

03 March 2015, 16:03 William Korir

Nairobi - The Orange Democratic Movement ODM is set to kick out key members such as Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and outspoken Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo for insubordination.

The party said in a statement Tuesday that the two, as well as other MPs who have in recent times gone against the party at vital times.

The two, as well as Rangwe MP George Oner, James Rege the Karachuonyo MP and their Ndhiwa counterpart Agostinho Neto all went against the party choice in the recent Homa Bay by elections.

" The Disciplinary Committee of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has issued a 14-day- Show Cause Notice to seven members of the party following claims of gross misconduct leveled against them, the party said in a statement Tuesday.

They are,  H.E. Dr. Evans Odhiambo Kidero – Governor, Nairobi County, Hon. Eng. James Rege – MP, Karachuonyo, Hon. Millie Odhiambo – MP, Mbita, Hon. George Oner – MP, Rangwe,  Hon. Agostinho Neto – MP, Ndhiwa, Hon. Christine Masiyoi Lemein – Nominated MCA, Narok County Assembly, Hon. Josephine Nashipae Karia – Nominated MCA, Narok County Assembly

The Notices were dispatched from Orange House, the Party Headquarters today by the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee Mr. Fred Athuok.

Each one of them is expected to respond to the notice issued in writing and addressed to the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee and deliver it to Orange House within the 14 days before summons are issued, the party added.

The notices were sent on the request of party leader Raila Odinga who called on chairman John Mbadi to discipline dissenting party officials.

Odhiambo has already been on record as stating that she is not afraid of any action that the party will take on her, saying that she is in ODM to stay and a party warrior.
