Nairobi - The Orange Democratic Movement ODM will hold credible Kajiado Central nominations as the party seeks to retain the seat vacated by the exit of Joseph Nkaissery.
The party will be looking to fill up the slot left by Nkaissery who has left the party and his parliamentary seat for a place in the cabinet as Interior CS.
According to ODM communications boss Philip Etale, the party will seek to do credible nominations to have the best candidate compete for the seat along with others.
" It is important to hold credible nominations to ensure we get the best possible candidate to compete for the seat. That is our aim," he said.
ODM will be looking to avoid scenes such like those witnessed in Homa Bay nominations and the nightmare nomination process that followed that has seen the party split and lose some of its members.
The party will encounter stiff competition from The National Alliance party TNA, which is looking to complete a clean sweep of the Kajiado region by winning the Central seat.
Kajiado North MP Moses Ole Sakuda is confident TNA will reign supreme in the by elections.
" I can tell you here and now that TNA will take a clean sweep of all Kajiado constituencies. We are confident, and prepared to go all the way and ensure we lad the final piece of the dice," he said.
The by election is set for March 16, 2015.
