ODM meets Homa Bay aspirants to chart way forward

Nairobi - The Orange Democratic Movement ODM is meeting aspirants for the Homa Bay Senatorial seat to chart the way forward after the chaotic scenes during nominations.
The meeting is currently taking place at Orange House in Nairobi.
The party is meeting the aspirants to seek a way forward in the nominations and especially with the nomination date effected by the electoral commission IEBC set for Friday 19 December.
ODM has already requested the IEBC to push the nomination deadline forward by two weeks to ensure that they are able to conduct their nominations in a good manner.
" We are here to seek the way forward and we hope for a good resolution, former aide to Prime Minister Raila Odinga Caroli Omondi said of the meeting.
ODM Secretary General Ababu Namwamba had condemned the chaos that took place in the nominations Monday by stating that there has to be decorum within the party ranks.
He insisted that there would be a resolution reached between both parties but that there has to be some agreements made between all parties.
" We urge calm and ask all parties to be calm as we look for a resolution, he said.
There are 8 candidates seeking nomination are, the late Senator Otieno Kajwang’s brother
Moses, veteran politician Philip Okundi, Caroli Omondi, a former aide to
party leader Raila Odinga, Ochieng Mbeo, Oyugi Kambona, Tom Mboya, Fred
Rabongo, and Silas Jakakimba.
