Nairobi - The Orange Democratic Movement ODM has blamed Police for the death of two of their supporters in the Dandora grass-root elections on Sunday.
Two people are said to have died in the elections with their bodies taken to the City Mortuary.
The Police were not there for comment over the deaths but the party was unhappy with what went on.
" We are concerned that the law enforcement agencies seem to have
abdicated their responsibility of maintaining law and order as this
happened in their presence,” Oduor Ong'wen the ODM Executive Director told News24.
Outgoing Nairobi Police boss Benson Kibue was not available for comment.
The incident has already put ODM under pressure due to its poor record in past elections as regards security.
" We are confident that these situations are isolated and we will see more peaceful ones as time goes by," Ong'wen added.
The identities of the two dead was not available but it is understood that they were hacked to death using machetes.
