ODM blames Jubilee for Homa Bay violence

Nairobi - The Orange Democratic Movement ODM has blamed the ruling Jubilee coalition for the violence that is taking place in Homa Bay County.
The party has seen its candidate for the Homa Bay Senatorial race Moses Kajwang heckled and several rallies disrupted in the region due to his candidacy under ODM for the vacant Senatorial seat.
The violence has been fronted by angry youth demanding the party rescind its decision to field the unpopular Kajwang during the upcoming by elections.
However, according to ODM, there is a sinister motive behind the violence.
" According to our agents and reports, the violence is sponsored by the Jubilee coalition which is keen to have ODM shrouded in a bad name," Political affairs Secretary Philip Wandayi said.
" This is not a coincidence and we are calling on the Jubilee coalition to mind its own business and stay away from ODM," he added.
The accusations though were met with derision from former Rangwe MP Philip Okundi who said that the feelings of the people were being heard.
" The feelings of the people are being heard. Let no one lie about this," he said.
The growing opposition to Kajwang will likely see a heated campaign period and a tricky election for ODM which will be faced with the distinct possibility of losing the by election, a case that they will be keen to avoid.
