ODM, TNA supporters clash in Mathare

Nairobi - Supporters of the Orange Democratic Movement and the The National Alliance TNA have clashed in Mathare during the ongoing by election.
The two sets of supporters clashed at Ndururuno polling station in Mathare after they engaged each other in arguments over the state of the election.
The two groups were haggling over supposed bribery, with ODM supporters claiming their TNA counterparts were engaging in bribery.
And after heated arguments, there was a brief scuffle before police intervened.
The by election is expected to be fought out between ODM's Stephen Kariuki and the incumbent George Wanjohi of TNA.
The clashes were culmination of tension that had steadily built overnight after leaflets were dropped in the constituency, saying that Kariuki had quit the election and would not be vying.
Both sides traded accusations in the morning over the matter, with Kariuki pointing fingers at his TNA counterpart and Wanjohi reacting by saying that maybe Kariuki has sensed defeat.
Polling stations are set to close at 5PM.
