ODM Senator says NO to Raila Homa Bay election

Nairobi - An ODM Senator says that party leader Raila Odinga should not vie for the Homa Bay Senatorial seat.
Nominated Senator Elizabeth Ongoro feels that the party leader should stay away from active politics for now and especially at Senate level because he needs to look up and ahead nit below.
Ongoro says that if he runs for the seat, there is likely-hood that the former PM will have stepped to a level lower than he is supposed to be at.
" I do not agree with those calls. The party leader is a very senior person and I think it should remain like that, she said.
" He has done great things for this country and region at large and I think it would be demeaning for him to stoop to the level of dealing with County matters, for the sake of achieving other goals or targets or just occupying a space because it exists," she added.
The matter is likely to be discussed at the National Governing Council meeting at Kasarani Friday, with many expecting a tug of war between proponents and opposers of the move.
