ODM MP wants Ruto’s ICC prayer rallies stopped

Nairobi - Mbita MP Milie Odhiambo has said that the Jubilee Coalition should stop holding prayer rallies for Deputy President William Ruto’s case at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Speaking in Nairobi on Thursday, Odhiambo said the debate on who fixed who at the ICC should stop and instead focus on healing, after the 2007/8 post election violence.
“I am appealing to Jubilee to stop holding prayers everywhere in the name of defending Ruto. They are just spreading propaganda and lies and this should be stopped because the country needs to heal," she said.
“They are dividing the country along tribal lines in the name of defending Ruto,” the legislator added.
According to Odhiambo, Orange Democratic (ODM) party is willing to stand with the DP if Jubilee stops politicizing the case.
“If politics is left out, we as ODM are willing to stand with Ruto, who was with us in 2007 in this case," she offered.
“I'm an international lawyer and if you want I am willing to go and defend him at ICC,” Odhiambo added.
So far, three prayer rallies have taken place in support for Ruto's and journalist Joshua Sang's plight at the ICC.
