OCPD arraigned in court over theft

A Senior police officer from Nakuru was on Monday arraigned before a Nakuru court charged with the offence of attempted theft.
The officer commanding Mwariki police post Hillary Kagwamba Ndung'u appeared before Nakuru chief magistrate Samuel Mungai where he also faced two counts of wrongful confinement.
He was charged that on 20th March 2013 jointly with others not before court using his powers as the OCPP attempted to
steal KES 285 000 from Pamela Nyanchoka Bundi at Pipeline area.
He was also charged with the offense of abducting Pamela and Hesbon Ndubi Masita with intentions to confine at Nakuru on the same date.
Kagwamba denied the charges and the court directed that he be released on a cash bail of KES. 30 000 or bond of KES 200 000.
The case will be heard on 14th May 2013, while the mentioning is set for 4th April 2013.
