Nyeri governor Nderitu Gachagua is in good terms with county wards representatives, his deputy Samuel Githaiga Wamathai said on Monday.
Wamathai said there is no dispute between the two, and that Gachagua and the representatives are working well.
Wamathai was responding to allegations that Gachagua has not been sociable with Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) since a section of the representatives had recently claimed he had embezzled public funds.
Wamathai denied the allegations and said the two institutions are working to benefit area residents who elected them in office.
He was speaking at Riamukurwe PCEA church grounds during the homecoming party of a nominated ward representative Zipporah Wangechi.
The deputy governor however boasted that Nyeri is far ahead than other counties in the region, due to the policies that the governor has laid out of significantly involving people of all walks of life.
The county assembly speaker, Mwangi Mugo who was present at the event echoed Wamathai’s sentiments and clarified that MCAs only point out issues that they want rectified by the governor’s office.
