Nyeri Governor lowers cost of P3 form to KES.200

17 September 2014, 20:54 Jospeh Njunge'eh

Nyeri - Governor Nderitu Gachagua has reduced the cost of acquiring a police P3 form signed in County Health facilities from KES.3,000 to KES.200.

Gachagua said he was disappointed to learn that public Health institutions were charging KES.3,000.

“I was disappointed to learn that our hospitals have been charging those seeking to have the P3 forms KES.3,000. This is like denying the victims justice,” the Governor said.

The governor further announced a complete waiver of charges for victims of domestic violence explaining that the move is aimed to ensure those seeking the P3 forms access justice easily.

Gachagua made the remarks after his tour at the Nyeri Provincial General Hospital (PGH) which has been upgraded to a Level five hospital, where he assessed the level of service delivery.

He further announced that all health facilities in the county including 68 dispensaries, 24 health centres, four level 4 and one Level 5 hospitals will be digitally interlinked in order to improve service delivery in the face of critical staff shortages.

The County Executive in charge Health Services, Charles Githinji explained that the digital platform they are investing in will allow inter-facility consultations.

“It will enable an x-ray taken in Mukuru to be accessed elsewhere, he said.
