Nyahururu - Elected leaders in Nyandarua County yesterday inaugurated the local County Development Board with a stern warning to governor Daniel Waithaka Mwangi that he risks recall if he continues siding with CORD.
Governor Waithaka was not at the inaugural function that was held at Senator Muriuki Karue’s office in Ol Kalou town.
Kipipiri MP, Samuel Gichigi warned Waithaka that stern action would be taken against him if he continues siding with other governors who are inclined to the opposition coalition.
However, when contacted for a comment, the Governor said he had excused himself from attending the Board’s inaugural meeting.
Senator Karue, however said, “He told me something like that but did not tell me to officially convey his apologies.”
The inauguration meeting was attended by 13 out of 15 Board members.
Those who did not attend were Governor Daniel Waithaka, who by law is the Secretary of the Board, and the County Secretary Kireru Mwangi.
“Kireru had sent his apologies saying he was sitting for examination but the Governor had not,” reiterated Karue.
Karue is the Board Chairman by law.
