No man can never justify stripping a woman
27 November 2014, 19:11
Nairobi - There are a lot of approaches one can take in trying to
justify stripping a woman’s clothes; indecent, disrespectful, unwarranted, she
was asking for it… the list is endless but what we can all agree on is at the
end, even the beginning, she was all the same defenseless.
She is weaker, even
when it is a single man, the woman will always be weaker when you match her
physical strength against the man’s. It will all still point out to violence
It is a new height that we Kenyans are
grasping to reach and we are already past it.
Because no one woke up in the morning and told anyone what to wear and
no one gave anyone money for what they were wearing. It is not only frustrating
but also chilling to have to now take hours on end trying to figure out if
maybe what you are wearing might spark one’s anger and bring a crowds rage
against you just for stepping out and going about your business.
because the other parties did not have anything better to do with their day and
while away time as idlers.
Look at it from any angle but at the end of the day it is
still the same outcome, defenseless women, being made to pay for being female.
Because I do not see any men being chased down the street for going shirtless.
If they can do that what is wrong with a woman doing the same because it is
still the same-going shirtless.
Does not matter if he is working under
construction, last time I checked, they even had to have illuminated gear on
top and some men just have provocative and ‘disgusting’ bodies in the form of
beer belies hanging out with hairy chest and sweat from exhaustion weighting
If it is not wrong for them to go half naked, what justifies anyone
to come against a woman missing few inches of their clothing?
Just because she
did not want to reply to your catcalling or lurid winks and disgusting abusive
remarks as she passed you in the street. The way I see it, if no one told you
how to dress when you left the house as a man, then neither do you have the
right to dictate terms to anyone that is neither your daughter nor your wife.
