Nkaissery fit for the post of Interior CS, says MP

03 December 2014, 13:00 Wilshere

Nakuru - Njoro Member of Parliament, Joseph Kiuna has welcomed the nomination of Joseph Nkaissery to the post of Interior CS.

The MP praised Nkaissery saying he has a vast knowledge on the matter of security and that he is the right man for the job.

“The move by President Uhuru Kenyatta is a good one because Nkaissery has a better understanding of security matters,” he said.

Speaking Tuesday in Nakuru town during a press conference, Kiuna said that Inspector General David Kimaiyo's decision to resign was also a noble idea.

The legislator said the nomination of Nkaissery who is from the ODM camp shows that the President is not partisan when it comes to national issues.

“This nomination of Nakissery goes to show that our President is a non-partisan person and that he means well for the Kenyans,” he said.

The lawmaker also hit out at CORD leaders saying they should refrain from issuing misleading remarks to Kenyans.

He said that the opposition members are not being patriotic since they appear to be capitalizing on the current issues to gain political mileage.

Kiuna added that the fight against terror is not for the government of the day but rather a collective responsibility of all Kenyans.

He said that this was not a time for politicians to be pointing fingers at each other but for coming together for the common good of all.

“All leaders should work together regardless of political party affiliation,” he said.
