Nkaissery fate now lies with parliament

Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta has submitted the name of Joseph Nkaissery as his proposed nominee for the position of CS Interior to Parliament for vetting.
The president wrote to the Speaker of the National Assembly to state his nomination of Nkaissery for the post, seeking approval from MPs to have Nkaissery take office.
The move will likely force parliament to reconvene as they were due to go on recess starting Thursday as Nkaissery's appointment is deemed a matter of national importance.
He will be vetted by the house committee on defence led by Athman Kamama.
Kamama has already voiced his approval of Nkaissery's candidature.
" He is the right man as he has a track record and has shown in the past that he can do a job in security," he said after Nkaissery's appointment Tuesday.
Nkaissery himself is yet to publicly declare if he will take up the position, as he has promised to first consult his Kajiado Central constituents on whether to take up the position and quit his parliamentary seat or not.
