Nairobi - A case in which suspended Lands CS Charity Ngilu is accused of taking part in fraudulently siphoning a 134 acre piece of land in Karen Nairobi has been suspended.
The case was suspended Friday by the High Court after Judge Lucy Gacheru ruled that the case be suspended until another one ongoing over the true ownership of the land is determined.
" It is only fair that the case be suspended in the interim until the other one related to this one is determined," she said.
The case has been ongoing in which Muchanga Investments LTD claims it owns the piece of land, a fact which is in question.
In the case, Ngilu is accused of obstructing investigations into the land case by directing officials in her ministry to neither release documents to Ethics and Anti Corruption Commision EACC officers nor record statements.
Director of Public Prosecutions DPP Keriako Tobiko had opposed Ngilu and Jos Konzolo's request for the criminal case to be suspended.
Konzolo is a managing Trustee of the National Social Security Fund NSSF who is said to have forged title deeds for the land.
