Ng'ang'a robbery a PR stunt: Police

Nairobi - Police believe that the alleged robbery at Pastor James Ng'ang'a's Karen home is a ploy to get public sympathy during his ongoing drink driving, killing case.
A gang of four unknown people broke into Pastor Ng’ang’a’s Karen home Thursday night and made away with household goods and an unknown amount of cash.
The gang is said to have cut the window grills to enter the house.
Property worth KES 500,000 was apparently stolen.
However, policeman attached to the case said that they believe the matter has been doctored.
" This case reminds us of several others of similar ilk. They are sinister, especially coming a day before his bail hearing," the officer told News24.
It was also puzzling that there was no one in Ng'ang'a's home during the burglary.
Ng'ang'a spent Thursday night in a police cell as he awaited court's judgment as to whether he can be released on bail pending the hearing of his dangerous driving case.
He was granted a cash bail of KES 500,000.
He was arraigned in a Limuru court Thursday to answer to charges of causing death of Mercy Njeri through dangerous driving, attempting to evade justice by bribing and also giving false information to police officers.
However, the preacher denied all the charges before Limuru Senior Resident Magistrate Timothy ole Tanchu and was remanded at the at Gigiri police station before his release on bail Friday.
