Newspapers are for wrapping meat, insists Uhuru

Bomet - President Uhuru Kenyatta lashed out at the media for fanning political rivalry between his deputy William Ruto and Bomet Governor William Ruto.
Kenyatta who toured Bomet County together with the DP on Sunday, rubbished the print media in Kenya for the second time since his election in 2013, saying newspapers are only good enough for wrapping meat in butcheries.
He said he had confidence in the DP and those wishing to see squabbles between them will be disappointed.
“I am very happy with how we work closely. But for some people, if there is no political conflict, they are not satisfied. Tell them there is a new generation of leaders whose approach is different.
“Those wishing for rifts within the Jubilee Government and constantly trying to create false narratives should realize that they are engaging in futile errands,” he said.

He asked critics to respect their leadership and stop disrupting their agenda by using every opportunity to oppose development for the people.
“We will not be able to achieve our development objectives if we do not unite. The government has made tremendous achievements and more will be achieved in the coming years,” he said.
