New Bishop appointed for Methodist Church

Bishop Joseph M’mbura is the new Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church in Kenya.
M’Mbura who takes over from Bishop Stephen Kanyiaru whose term expired after four years in office was voted in during elections that took place in Nairobi .
M’mbura is the former Bishop of Miathene synod within the Meru County.
Reverend Catherine Mutua was elected Bishop of the Kaaga Synod after she defeated Reverend Richard Muguongo who is a Minister at Rwarera parish which is within Kaaga synod.
Bishop Catherine Mutua replaces Bishop William Muriuki whose term in office has expired.
The elections were peacefully held and devoid of any incidents.
