Nakuru’s Menengai oil refineries has unveiled a KES 800 000 sponsorship for the Ndovu Rugby franchise.
Top Fry, a top brand of Menengai oil refineries, will be sponsoring the team made of Reigning Kenyan Cup Champions.
The Menengai oil Nakuru RFC is potentially the strongest franchise in this year’s Bamburi Rugby Super Series which includes seven other franchises from Kenya and Uganda.
Speaking in Nakuru on Thursday after handing over the sponsorship cheque to the Kenya Rugby Union representative Ali al Jabri, Menengai oil Managing Director Onkar Singh wished the team well in this year’s Bamburi Super Series campaign and committed Top Frys full support to the Ndovu franchise.
Other constituent clubs in the Ndovu franchise are Kabarak, Eldoret RFC, Egerton and Moi universities.
Team manager Simpson Osiemo said that they have Kenya’s finest coach Dominique Habimana thus they are a step away from honours.
Menengai oil Nakuru RFC were also part of winning squad from the 2012 Bamburi super series and will probably carry the momentum with them.
Top Fry Ndovu kick off the title chase this weekend against Mamba team from the Coastal franchise.
Big names are expected in the squad include Lawrence Terer, Sammy Warui, Duncan Mwangi and Edwin Makori.
