Nairobi - Just beginning to see signs of wrinkles on your faces or you can’t keep your age a secret anymore? Have you observed dark shadows under and around your eyes, strange blotches and a profusion of wrinkles on your face? Does your skin look dead?
Seeking ways to reduce wrinkles is probably your first agenda, putting in mind that the society we are living in is one that scorns age and celebrates youthfulness and fresh looks.
Taking care of your skin doesn’t necessarily need chemicals.
Here are some natural remedies and tips that will help you beat those wrinkles and keep your face looking young and fresh:
Drink more water: Water will help erase those wrinkles off your face.
Research shows that one in five women consume less than the recommended daily water intake. If your skin is not getting the sufficient amount of water, dyhydration will present itself in the form of dry, tight and flaky skin. Dry skin has less resilience and is more prone to wrinkling. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day will help rid of toxins and give your skin a more radiant glow.
Avoid the sun: Exposure to the sun rays is a number one cause of wrinkles.

If you must stay in the sun, wear a sunscreen. It will reduce the harmful effect of UV rays on your face, dehydration and most importantly, skin cancer.
Get adequate sleep: Sleeping enough hours helps your skin to remain thick, more elastic and less likely to wrinkle.
Eat more fish and fresh vegetables: These are great ingredients for a healthy-looking skin.
The fatty acid in the fish (Omega 3) helps nourish your skin and reduce wrinkles. Vegetables contain antioxidants and help fight damage caused by free radicals which in turn make the skin resistant to photo aging elements.
Use a moisturizer: Its power creates a physical barrier to keep moisture and reduces dryness on your skin leaving it moist.
Moist skin looks better and makes wrinkles less noticeable! Apply makeup containing hyaluronic acid prior to your moisturizer or a skin gel. Hyaluronic acid holds 1 000 times its own weight in water, thus attracting water to the skin and holding it.
Avoid skin-depleting elements like soap: Soap strips the skin of its protective barrier, leaving it dry. Avoiding stripping soaps can prevent the loss of natural oils.
Soaps are cosmetics and contain chemicals that dehydrate your skin leaving it dry and vulnerable to skin impairment. If you must use soap make sure you apply a hydrating moisturizer to reduce the drying effect and moisturize your skin.

Applying a hydrating moisturizer within two minutes of leaving the bathroom prevents dehydration. The skin is still porous and is vulnerable to products that are applied following the bath or shower, allowing better absorption.
Use natural facial cleansers to remove make up instead of soap: Most people will go for natural cleansers like oatmeal, milk, honey, lemon or organic coconut oil.
Avoid smoking: Smoking damages and leaves your skin dry, looking older. It also deprives your body of oxygen, water and nutrients.
Don’t squint: Facial movement like squinting overworks your facial muscles forming a groove beneath your skin surface that eventually become wrinkles.
Eat a balanced diet: Eating a balanced diet will help to strengthen your skin’s ability to maintain moisture and protect it from damage. Balanced diet also wards off wrinkles from your face leaving your skin looking younger and healthier.
