Sports minister Ababu Namwamba has promised to take action on anybody found responsible of looting the money allocated for the repair of the Mombasa municipal stadium.
At a press conference in Mombasa on Friday, Namwamba stated clearly that there is no way the government will tolerate the habit of individuals squandering public funds allocated for the development of the nation.
He said the contractor who was allocated the contract of repairing the stadium complained of having failed to receive any funds and that this forced him to intervene.
He has ordered an immediate inquiry of the matter and culprits found to face the law for infringing the public funds adding that, such an act is a serious crime.
The minister however avoided talking about the misunderstandings in the national team, Harambee stars stating that the matter concerns the management of football and not a ministry as a whole.
He left it to be dealt with by thee management.
