30 December 2011, 18:16
Nakuru Town MP Lee Kinyanjui has declared his ambition of becoming the first Governor for Nakuru County in the 2012 general elections.
The MP who has been silent about his political future made the decision of vying for the Governor’s post after extensive consultations with the electorate and opinion shapers in the vast county.
The incumbent MP and an Assistant Minister for Roads said that having seen his constituency split into two would be stooping too low if he did not contest for governorship.
Kinyanjui said that the best gift he can give his electorate for the New Year is to prepare them for the race in convincing voters outside the constituency on what he is capable of in terms of leadership.
Speaking to the press, the MP said that he has what it takes for the county’s leadership citing his developmental record within his constituency.
Kinyanjui said that the past four years has seen Nakuru grow tremendously to attracting investors and becoming the fastest growing town in East Africa.
