Nakuru - Leaders allied to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party have demanded resignation of the town West MP Samuel Arama for what they term is disloyalty to the party that took him to the parliamentary seat.
Nakuru County Assembly leader of minority Dan Ambale said Arama expressed disrespect to ODM party leadership when he dared them to expel him for his support of Jubilee government agenda.
“Arama is the only ODM legislator in Nakuru County. He at several public functions has disrespected the party and its leadership by vowing to work with Jubilee contrary to Political Parties Act and the constitution of Kenya,” said Ambale.
The threat to ouster the MP comes after Cord dropped Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro as the Minority Chief Whip in the National Assembly accusing him of supporting Jubilee.
Arama over the weekend denounced CORD calls for referendum citing the country needs development not politics propelled by CORD and also expressed his support of Jubilee Government.
Ambale wondered why the legislator was not resigning from the position if he was fully behind the government to seek mandate from the electorates in order to be in the ruling coalition.
Ol Karia ODM Member of County Assembly Peter Palang’a echoed the leader of minority’s sentiments reiterating that Arama should not represent the interest of ODM hence Party leadership should expel him immediately.
