Nakuru County Health Centers requires more health staff

Nakuru - The Chairman of Health committee in Nakuru County assembly Joseph Lagat has said that there is need to employ more health staff to county hospital.
Lagat also said that all the health facilities in the county should be given land title deeds to help reduce cases of land grabbing.
The chairman of health said that his committee visited five health centers early last month and that it was shocking that some of them only had one stethoscope.
“Our health centers in the county require a lot of work because some of them don’t have enough health workers while others don’t the needed health facilities,” he said.
Speaking to the media on Friday in Nakuru town, Lagat also said that Nakuru Provincial General Hospital (PGH) requires a modern mortuary and maternity fully equipped with modern equipment.
He also said that the county government should complete the construction of the trauma center at the PGH.
“Our PGH really needs modern facilities and equipment especially for the mortuary and maternity wing because most of them are congested,” he said.
He also said that drugs should be distributed to health facilities based on the top ailment of that particular health facility and region.
He also said that Kapkures health center, Mirugi Kariuki in Nakuru East and Langalanga center be upgraded to county hospital to help ease decongestion at the (PGH).
Langat said that his committee will be filing a report which will latter be tabled to the house in order to be actualize by the county executive for health.
