'Nakuabudu' singer Sarah Fina shares her life story

24 February 2014, 18:45 Eugene Odanga

Nairobi - Having originated from Eritrea, Sarah Fina has taken the Kenyan gospel industry by storm with her hit tracks “El- Shaddai” and “Nakuabudu”.

Her music is a nice blend of the many different cultures in Eritrea and Kenya and needless to say is deserving of the attention it is getting right now.

The story of how she got to where she is right now is nothing short of inspirational.

Her parents, having been deported from Ethiopia where they had built a life for themselves to Eritrea, where they had nothing, made her childhood hard. She lost her brother in Ethiopia due to the war, and her father due to the stress and pain at only 15 years of age and had to take up the responsibility of taking care of her entire family.

Her success in the music industry was born out of a lot of hardship, but she thanks God for bringing her this far.

Having been in a country where Christian persecution was rampant was without a doubt a hard thing to do, Sarah kept her faith and beliefs.

She is currently the Managing Director of Zamare Production House and a student of Christian Counseling at Daystar University here in Nairobi.
