Nyeri - It was joy for Nyeri people as they welcomed the opening of Naivas Supermarket new branch.
The 38th branch was opened Tuesday at the lower part of the town marking a major milestone for the organization, according to Business Development and Marketing Manager Willy Kimani.
Customers immediately flocked in the supermarket after it was officially opened by officials through cutting the cake.
The retail shop has occupied two floors enjoined with elevators, thus becoming the first of its kind in Nyeri town.
The customers who were shopping for New Year celebrations lauded the move saying many supermarkets in town will benefit customers due to competition.
Other major supermarkets in the town include Kasturi, Samrat and Mathai supermarkets while Uchumi supermarket is also expected to open its doors next year.
Kimani said the supermarket which is 62,000 square feet with two floors and ample parking of 100 cars will offer a good space for customers since it is also situated near a main bus terminus.
“We are here to improve the regional experience for the people. Other business partners should not see this as a competition,” he asserted.
Kimani also said that another branch will soon be opened at King’ong’o estate which will be 12,000 square feet.
“This will be the first supermarket to be opened in an estate in Nyeri town. We want to offer the best and convenient services to our customers,” the manager added.
