Nairobi - Thugs in Nairobi have devised a method of stealing vehicles from unsuspecting motorists, by hitting them from behind feigning an accident.
Police spokesperson Charles Owino says that the thugs have devised the method as a means of stopping unsuspecting motorists and then robbing from them.
" We ask Kenyans to watch out for the thugs who are hitting motorists from behind and then when they stop, they rob them," he stated.
He asked motorists to be keen and if possible, stop either in a very public place to assess the damage or in a police station.
" I ask Kenyans to be wary and not stop, unless it is in a very public space," he stated.
He stated the incident of a police officer who was shot dead at the Moi Forces Academy gate in Nairobi after a motorbike rammed him from behind.
He stepped out to check the damage only to be shot on the chest and died. The officer's names was Constable Joseph Muimi who was attached to the anti narcotics unit.
