Nairobi - The export Processing Zone in Athi River on the outskirts of the city were evacuated after a man threatened to cause harm to the premises, Police have said.
The incident took place Saturday morning after the man allegedly threatened that there would be harm on the premises after being denied entry.
The man was arrested by security officers and Police but since there was no surety over his threats, the massive premises was evacuated.
Police later on called the incident a waste of time.
" The man threatened to cause harm but after looking closely, we decided it was just a move to cause stress and nothing else," Athi River OCPD Kizito Mutoro told News24.
He is being held at the Athi River Police Station.
In a similar incident last week, three men were arrested for causing a similar scare at the Garden City Mall in the outskirts of the city.
Kenya is on high alert following threats of attacks by terror group Al Shabaab.
