Nairobi MCA shot by boda boda rider

18 March 2015, 12:39 Victor Tinto

Nairobi - The Korogocho Member of County Assembly MCA has been shot and seriously injured by unknown persons on a boda boda.

The MCA Maxwell Ochar was shot and wounded as he allegedly waited for his wife in Ruaraka area Nairobi Wednesday morning.

Ochar was waiting for his wife at a parking lot and was injured but not killed by the assailant.

He was quickly rushed to the Guru Nanak Hospital Nairobi for treatment.

Nairobi police boss Benson Kibue said that the motive and persons who initiated the attack were yet to be known but that investigations are ongoing.

" We are following leads but at the moment it is too early to know anything until we complete investigations," he told News24.

The latest attack on the MCA will increase the clamour for official protection for the legislators who have of late borne the brunt of attacks.

Just recently, the Juja MCA was kidnapped and found five days later in Nakuru, just the most recent in a spate of attacks that have targeted the County officials.
