Nairobi County embarks on plans to ease congestion in the city

Nairobi - The Nairobi City County has officially launched the Transport & Urban De-congestion Committee that will collect views from the public on how to ease congestion in the city.
The committee is which is comprised of stakeholders from public sectors such as the Matatu Owners Association, Matatu Welfare Association, Representatives of Nairobi residents as well the private sector and security experts will review all existing termini to create a vibrant, safe, secure and reliable transport system and hand in an interim report in 60 days.
“We remain committed towards improving the other forms of public transportation and to this end we have already operationalized 2 of the 30 railways stations we intend to open in the city to provide alternative means of transport to residents,” said Nairobi governor Evans Kidero.
Kidero said his administration was working towards improving transport infrastructure in the city.
