Property of unknown value was damaged on Saturday night when fire broke out in a dormitory at Nairobi Pentecostal Church Boys’ Secondary School.
According to the school’s administration, the fire broke out at around 9.00 pm in the dormitory used by form one students on the second floor of a three storey building although no casualties were reported.
The fire was however contained 15 minutes later by the Nairobi City Council fire brigade team, KK Security and police officers from Buruburu Police Station who rushed to the scene.
“We thank God for saving souls; could it have happened while the students were asleep then it could have been another case,” said one of the administrators.
He added that most of the boys were traumatized after the incident but they were going through counseling so that it does not affect their studies.
“We prayed with them and we will continue to talk to them so that this does not emotionally affect their concentration in class,” he said.
According to him, the real cause of the fire had not been established but initial investigations showed that it was due to an electric fault.
“We will give a full report about the cause of the fire after we are done with our investigation,” he said.
