NGO cautions against land politics
13 February 2013, 14:03
A Nakuru based NGO has warned area residents against divisions caused by politicians who persistently stick to land issue as their campaign tool.
Peace and Development chairman Walter Mwania said that a persistent mentioning of land in a callous manner by aspirants may brew bitterness among the IDPS.
"Persistent mention of land issues in an unorganized manner may induce the feeling of bitterness among the victims who lost their lands in the past," Mwania said.
He further requested campaigners to avoid using this issue but instead seek better ways of addressing it, saying that residents have already started developing feelings of insecurity.
Mwania asked the politicians to address the matter in the right and legal places and not on the streets.
