Muturi wants IEBC Commissioners reduced

Nairobi - Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi says that he wants Commissioners of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commision IEBC reduced from 9 to 3 to end regional interests.
Muturi announced Tuesday that the move will end the usual nagging interest in IEBC Commissioner posts from political bigwigs.
He insisted that the move would help stop Kenyans from looking at the IEBC as a premise of their political life in the country.
" If they are reduced, then Kenyans will stop asking for regional representation and the IEBC will become a national body once and for all," he stated.
The move was however quickly rubbished by the Consumer Federation of Kenya who described the proposal as wisdom from hell.
The IEBC has been entrenched in political battles since its inception, with Kenyans always seeking a regional balance to the Commision to ensure their interests are maintained by the so called 9 Commissioners.
