Nairobi - Speaker Justin Muturi has approved a motion to impeach Education CS Jacob Kaimenyi.
The Speaker approved the motion Wednesday and asked Matayos MP Geoffrey Odanga to have it tabled by Thursday according to House rules.
The MP says that Kaimenyi has abused his office, operated with gross negligence and is unfit to hold such high office.
He says that the ministry is better off without a prejudicial person, who he accuses Kaimenyi of being.
He says that so far he has collected 103 signatures from MPs who are read to boot out Kaimenyi.
" I am confident that this motion will see the light of day and save Kenyans from the CS and his negligence," he told News24 on phone Wednesday.
This is not the first time Kaimenyi has landed in trouble over his position.
Teachers Unions are also seeking his removal from office, accusing him of running the Education docket like his personal business.
The Kenya National Union of Teachers KNUT has already started collecting signatures to push through with his removal.
" We will not sleep before we have him removed from office," KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion said last week.
