Nakuru - Machakos County Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua Thursday said he is comfortable with those planning to derail his development initiatives and that their plans will not succeed at the expense of people’s crucial needs.
Mutua said he has the interest of people to shift from poverty life to prosperity and that he will not relent in initiating more projects.
Speaking at Kabarak University on Thursday when he gave a key note address during the 4th international research conference, Mutua said the people of Machakos are geared for a comfortable lifestyle under his leadership.
“In Machakos, we have faced opposition and we know much will come, but we are comfortable with it and as they keep on spreading propaganda, we will be defeating the storm,” he said.
He urged politicians to avoid reckless utterances and instead focus on positive politics.
Mutua said time was over for the old guard to continue in leadership where he reiterated that power is not given but taken.
“In a relay race, the button is handed over and not retained. We should not engage in politics that does not add up to any mathematics, but instead focus on positive development,” added Mutua.
