Nairobi - The first Sunday of October 2014 is set to host the 56th installation of the Blankets and Wine music event.

Over the last few years, the event has grown to become one of the most loved and attended in Nairobi’s social and musical scene. It brings together the best Kenyan culture, music and people and mashes it up with the best acts from all across the world.

This time sees the return of the Hip-hop kings including Rabbit 'Kaka Sungura', Taio tripper and Muthoni Drummer Queen.

“This edition will be a thematic exploration of the Hip Hop genre and the generous effects it has had on the creative industry, through “An Ode to Hip Hop”, wrote the event’s organizers on their official fan page.

It will also feature several stages, including:

• Music Stage: Taio, Muthoni Drummer Queen and Rabbit.
• Literature Stage: Kwani? Mahewa, Kwani? Literary Salon: Emerging Voices, Dramatized Readings and Kwani? Book Swap.
• Art Hive: Independent film exhibition by PAWA254, FA254
• DJ Booth: Chill out with the afro-house guru Jack Rooster for a live session of his radio show Caffe Mocha at B&W

Tickets are going for  KES 2000 (Advance) and KES 2500(Gate), with every adult ticket coming with a complimentary bottle of wine.
