Nairobi - Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama has recorded a statement over the alleged insult by him of Devolution CS Anne Waiguru.
Muthama recorded the statement at the Nairobi offices of the National Cohesion and Integration Commision NCIC Wednesday.
He was censured for referring to Waiguru as President Uhuru Kenyatta's girlfriend during a rally in Nairobi last week.
He has since denied that he meant the utterances as they have been misconstrued to be.
" Why is she being favoured. Is it because she is the girlfriend to him?," he said in reference to Waiguru over her KES 791 million National Youth Service NYS scandal.
Muthama stated after recording the statement that he would cooperate fully with the authorities and had nothing to hide.
" This is a case of selective amnesia but I will cooperate with the relevant authorities, " he stated.
Muthama was accompanied by several opposition leaders.
