I had a brief interview with the participants of the Mutai Cup tournament in Kericho town and they told me about the tournament.
The Club leader that I interviewed was the Head coach of the Kenya Pipeline volleyball club who said the matches were good and up to standard; so too was the officiating and every thing in general about the matches was good except for the venues and the facilities.
He said that the fields were of very low quality and the players had difficulty showing their best in the game and asked the tournament organizers to try and improve on this the next time that they will host the next meet .
Otherwise ,the matches were a boost to the game, especially in the part of the country where football is the main sport and the people know very little about the rest of the games except running.
The Organising Secretary of the Kenya Volleyball Federation, Walter Otieno, also praised the sponsors and organizers of the tournament saying that it was a great honour for the sponsors to have the National tournament hosted in Kericho and looked forward to coming back next year for the same games.
The games were a success and the people of Kericho town was happy and satisfied with the officiating and the general handling and playing of the game.
