Nakuru County Muslim Leaders have called out on losers in the just concluded polls to accept the results and work with the winners.
The Muslim leaders also saluted the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for the way they conducted the general elections saying the exercise was carried out in a free and fair manner.
Jealously guard Kenya against evil forces
Addressing the media during a briefing held on Monday in Nakuru, the chairman of the Muslim leaders Ibrahim Walid also urged the electorates to jealously guard Kenya against any evil forces that seek to divide the country along clan, ethnic, regional or religious lines.
“We wish to say bravo to IEBC for the work well done during the elections and that’s why we humbly request the losers to team up with the winners and strategise on the way forward as a country because Kenya is one,” he said.
Judiciary a key component for peace and stability
Walid added that they were pleased by the Judiciary department putting in place proper mechanism to deal with electoral offenses and disputes saying the Judiciary was a key component for peace and stability in any country.
The leaders also called out on the members of Mombasa Republican Council to embrace dialogue and the law in pursuing their grievances, urging them to remain united towards taking Mombasa and Kenya to higher tides of socioeconomic prosperity.
“Our brothers from MRC should embrace devolved governance and local leadership in expressing their life problems and shun away from negative political manipulation that results to loss of life and property,” Walid noted.
