Murang'a businessmen wary of kidnappers

Business activities have considerably lowered in Murang’a town as businessmen are fearing to fall victim of kidnapping and robbery vices in the area.
The business community members and traders are however, decrying over the decline of security which is keeping away investors away from the region. They are also blaming the police for failing to deal with the gangs.
Of late at 6.00PM in the evening most businesses are closed, while matatu terminus are flocked with people going back to their residences.
However, some suspects behind the abductions have been arrested and arraigned in court, while one of them committed suicide at the Murang’a police station cells using his trouser.
The suspect, believed to be the key leader of the gang behind the spate of abductions was arrested after police tracked him using his mobile phone.
They have been mostly targeting businessmen and old women and later demand for huge ransoms.
