The suspect has a case pending in court where he was charged with assault.

The arrest comes four days after the shooting a National Intelligence Service officer at Mlango wa papa by a gunman who was dressed in buibui.

The officer, Hashim Salman died after sustaining serious gun wounds. His shooting was linked to Ismail Mohammed Soshi who is on the police radar.

Kitur earlier said the police suspected that Soshi entered Kenya earlier this year from Somalia where he was training with a suspected militia group.

Kitur also confirmed that Soshi is still on the run.
