Mombasa 'buibui hitman' arrested, dresses recovered from his house

Mombasa - Police in Mombasa are holding a suspect believed to be part of a gang that terrorizes residents of Majengo and Old town area.
Mombasa police Commandant, Robert kitur said the suspect, Jamal Ahmed Abubakar was arrested in Old town Sunday at around 10 pm. He alleged police recovered from his house three bubuis, machetes and other items.
“We have a suspect whom we are interrogating. He was arrested in Old town area and we suspect he might be among hitmen wearing buibuis to terrorize residents,” said Kitur.
He said the police where questioning the suspected over the three buibui dresses found in his house despite there being no woman in his house.

The suspect has a case pending in court where he was charged with assault.
The arrest comes four days after the shooting a National Intelligence Service officer at Mlango wa papa by a gunman who was dressed in buibui.
The officer, Hashim Salman died after sustaining serious gun wounds. His shooting was linked to Ismail Mohammed Soshi who is on the police radar.
Kitur earlier said the police suspected that Soshi entered Kenya earlier this year from Somalia where he was training with a suspected militia group.
He however said that the police were treating the incident as a normal criminal incident.
Kitur also confirmed that Soshi is still on the run.
