The pupils will be getting free milk twice a week  courtesy of the programme dubbed Maziwa ya Joho.

“We want to ensure that we build a healthy society and a conducive learning environment for the pupils and also motivate them to perform well in schools.

The county government has a well laid down program that is aimed at reviving and improving the learning standards of pupils in Mombasa," added Joho.

He also called upon the private sector to support the project to help provide a meal for the less fortunate pupils in schools.

Mombasa County executive secretary for education Tendai Mtana Lewa lauded the governor’s move and said project will to help build moral support as well as encourage school enrollment .

Lewa said the county government was committed to ensure there was sustainability in the project and it will be expanded to cater for all pupils.
