Moi woos Kosgey, Bett and Sally to go back to KANU

15 April 2015, 15:06 Jackson Okata

Nakuru - Baringo Senator, Gideon Moi has said that he is trying to convince seasoned politicians in rift valley to troop back to KANU ahead of the 2017 general elections.

Moi said that he is talking to former cabinet ministers Henry Kosgey, Franklin Bett, Sally Kosgey and other senior politicians on the same.

Speaking Tuesday when he toured Rongai constituency in Nakuru County, Moi said that rift valley residents are politically hopeless and that only KANU can rescue them.

"The people of rift valley are talking and they are not hiding it because they are not happy. They were led into an outfit that they cannot fit in and they have been left in the wilderness. As leader, I will do all I can to bring my people together and I have been talking to Henry Kosgey, Bett and Sally Kosgey with the aim of forming a strong front that will be the solid house for our people," said Moi.

He was quick to note that he is not fighting deputy president, William Ruto, saying he is only trying to bring back the political glory of the rift valley region.

"No one is fighting the deputy president in rift valley. All we want is to bring back the political influence our region had in the past years and am not doing it alone because I have leaders who are working with me towards that goal," he said.

KANU secretary general, Nick Salat said that the deputy president should read the mood on the ground and stop misleading his people into joining what he called "other people's parties".
