Middle aged man charged with robbery

A middle-aged man was yesterday arraigned in a Nyeri court charged with robbing two people cash and mobile phones, all valued for Sh. 125,000 while armed with pangas and rungus.
Livingstone Njoroge Gichuru was charged that on August 27 last year, together with others not before court robbed Joram Muraya of cash amounting to Sh. 70,000 and a mobile phone valued for Sh. 20,000 in Gatitu village, Nyeri.
In a secondcount, he was accused of robbing Mary Muthoni Muraya of two mobile phones, Samsung3G worth Sh.20, 000, and Samsung E258 worth Sh. 15,000 in the same area.
Gichuru faced a further count of handling stolen goods where on September 15 in Karatina town, he was arrested in possession of a Samsung mobile phone, E258worth Sh. 15,000 believed to belong to Mary Muthoni Muraya.
The accused denied the charges before Senior Principle Magistrate, Shadrack Okato and was remanded until April 11 when his case will be heard.
