Memusi sworn in as Kajiado Central MP
19 March 2015, 17:00
Nairobi - Newly elected Kajiado Central MP Memusi Kanchori has been sworn into office.
The soft spoken Orange Democratic Movement ODM man Kanchori was sworn in just three days after his election victory Monday.
He replaces Joseph Nkaissery as MP, with the former now the Interior Cabinet Secretary.
Kanchori won a hotly contested election Monday seeing off Jubilee Alliance Party JAP's Patrick Tutui in the election.
He won the election by a small margin of just over 500 votes.
Kanchori's win was vital for ODM as it maintains their numbers in parliament, having been in a position where they could have lost the seat that Nkaissery won on an ODM ticket in the March 2013 General Election.
